MR does need to help clients take action, they don't get a lot of value if the big fat report just sits on the shelf (or more likely on their computer).&lt;BR/&gt;&lt;BR/&gt;2. The net promoter score is almost certainly not fail-safe.&lt;BR/&gt;&lt;BR/&gt;I also have a particular bugbear about the assumption of causality in the academic literature.  To my mind, it's very likely that a compay that has grown is likekly to have a lot of promoters (because they are new customer who still think they've made a good choice).&lt;BR/&gt;&lt;BR/&gt;However, as a tool for busines management, this doesn't matter  If you can use the net promoter score within your business in a way that promotes financial success/growth, then the academic merits don't matter a jot.&lt;BR/&gt;&lt;BR/&gt;So research has to be actionable to be valuable.
